Consider This House Blessed
We had our family and a few friends come over last night for prayer, worship, and to bless our new home. We moved in at the beginning of May and all had bad colds the first two weeks, then we all had the worst case of the flu. The four of us threw up for over a week, and the grand finale was my falling down the stairs injuring my tailbone and left hip. So, now with the diagnoses of cancer, we really wanted to come together and fill our home with GOD's Love, Blessings and Protection. Sonya had an amazing prayer about the "roots" of our home, the foundation and whatever happened previously in the house, being cut off and reconnected to Him. And the showers of His Love coming down over our house. It is a beautiful and powerful image of GOD saturating our home and lives. The kids also decorated the house last night for my Dad's surprise birthday party. Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you!
J slept well last night...and he slept in until almost 7am! In the past few months, he usually is so uncomfortable in the late afteroon he takes pain meds, so he falls asleep early. But, then the meds wear off around 1 or 2am, and then he is up for the rest of the night/morning all the way until the next evening. We explained this to the pain specialist we worked with, so the new meds he prescribed should help. Last night everyone prayed for his sleep, plus he started on the new meds, so I am so happy he got some solid rest last night for the first time in awhile.
We are enjoying the weekend...no appointments...and gearing up for the beginning of next week. We need to be at Queens bright and early at 7am on Monday for J's outpatient surgery to put in his port for chemo. The port will be checked and prepared on Tuesday afternoon, and then on Wednesday we start both treatments for chemo and radiation.
At this point, many of you have asked, J is still working both at FIRE and diving. He would rather be out working than staying at home uncomfortable. I have so much respect and incredible love for him that despite his pain he is still determined to work and provide for us...and without complaint. His strength is just incredible. With the kids, we are keeping life as normal as possible. They know Daddy is not always feeling well, but love cuddling with him watching Curious George or playing doctor. They have been a JOY and daily highlight in the midst of our trials. They continue to keep the laughter flowing in our home with their hilarious dances, funny words and silly games. Yes, this stinks, but we know it could be worse...so we are not only counting our blessings everyday, but enjoying them in our new home...our BLESSED new home.

Jim and Rem,
This is Karin Ingersoll, I just talked with Rach and am so overwhelmed with all the love, dignity and strength you all exude. I want to send you both and the keiki my prayers - I understand what it is to endure health complications; physical and emotional turmoil both as a patient and caregiver. PLEASE let me know if there is anything I can do - small or large. I am sending you love and light.
Aloha, Karin
